At the $300 range, I would look into Agile guitars. You can find them on eBay or Rondomusic(dot)com. They're really well made. The best bang for your buck.

Can someone tell me which is better, an Epiphone Les Paul Standard or a Gibson Les Paul Studio. I'm guessing Gibson but I'm just wondering.

i got an epi lp 100... one tip: dont buy it, srlsy it cant f*** stay in tune for like 5 minnuttes

i know but my guitar is a squier bulletand i payed 60$ for its 3 yrs old and my friend has a new epi lespaul , it costs about 400-700$ and i still think my guitar is alot better:D

no epiphone sounds like a gibson,no gibson les paul ballsy,no thick gibsiny sound i can´t believe why people like to fool others,epiphone are just toys compared to a gibson les paul too much of foolishry

The neck and action feel better on the Gibson, even after adjusting the action on my Epiphone LP Standard. But hey, at 3 to 4 times the price or more, you get what you pay for

Nice review, but it would have been nice for you to play some of the same riffs on the Gibson Les Paul so we can hear the difference, and not just the term, "hotter" or whatnot, which we all might not understand or associate with the sound.
