I think most college students want Jay Leno dead.

hm ...he did lose some weight ?

I like him in modest doses. I think the flavor of comedy has changed for the worse. Some of the blue humor is funny, other bits of it are just off color and tasteless.

I can't speak for all Boomers, but Conan isn't my cup of tea. Having had the experience of enjoying Johnny Carson for years, plus a little bit of Jack Paar and Steve Allen, Conan personally doesn't seem to me to be able to fill those shoes.I've talked with some Conan fans who already feel he's changing his wild style to conform more to the Tonight Show time slot. We'll have to wait and see how it all turns out.

Ah I see what you're talking about now, I read some more of the previous posts. I definately think the college students will tune in to Conan on the Tonight Show, but whether they stay fans will be based on whether he changes his humor and style too much. It also depends on how funny Jimmy Fallon is haha

I agree with you. But in some previous posts, semantics seemed to give another poster the idea I thought Boomers went for Conan and college students went for Leno. That's ridiculous. Although Leno pulls in more of the 18-49 age group than Letterman, Conan bests both of them with that age group. Boomers will still watch Jay at 10. Don't know if college students will want to watch Conan in the Tonight Show time slot, though.

What college student watches Leno? Everyone I know prefers Conan because he's more out there.
stuntflix (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Jay's still gonna come on, just at an earlier time.
carnaco2 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
I guess all the college students now watching Jay at 11:30 will have to shift over to Letterman, whereas all the Boomers watching Conan (!?!?) can now start watching him at an earlier time.

where do you get these ridiculous ideas? give me one source that backs up what you are saying. Nielson 2008 ratings by demographic say the exact opposite of what you are saying. i told you to go look it up, but it's quite clear that you are having more fun making arguments up based on your own biases than actually looking up real statistics and see for yourself. at this point you are no longer providing a compelling discussion, so i'll leave you to sulk in your own idiocy.
