dont forget about the Crusades partner. and you only addressed two parts of my answer, saying I obviously didnt follow the right path is irrelavent, Look at the statistics for atheist vs christian % in prison. A belief in God supports extrinsic motivation, you do good for God and not yourself, it also supports the idea that all morals come from God, and Gods Morals are Just. which the OT IMO says different, thats why we got Christians chanting "God Hates fags" on the streets

It's obvious you didn't follow the right path of Religion... well as far as Islam goes sure! I'll leave you a great quote-All Islam provokes is the following quote about religion:"Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, THAT takes religion." But truthfully,It all depends where, what, who....yes I would rather be an Atheist than behave like these above!

Not always, Just look at 9/11 those guys believed they would be rewarded in heaven for taken down the towers, also many Christian soldiers think they will go to heaven for dying in war. Ive been on both sides, when I was a christian, I fought,I was homophobic,I stole, and then at night I would ask God for forgiveness and believe me I would be sorry, as an Atheist I have never done any of those things. Internal Motivation always beats External Motivation, you should want to be good 4 yourself.

Its not the reward ..its the "spirituality" that can provoke it..and besides that; everybody as good as you are - has their weaknesses or better "weak moments"; believing in reward and punishment will surely help in such of a moment/case. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Well, if some invisible dude in the sky makes you a better person then to me youre weak, would you rather have a kid thats good because he wants to be or because he will be rewarded if he is?
Belindagirl13 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
well not really. its mostly depending on how much power a country has. like if one country is more powerful then the other then there will be war to bring it down..or it could be racism. the leader of a country might not like the people born in....Africa. so that can start a war...so its much more things then just religion that starts a war.

lol I read your other comments n I gotta admit - hey you good man! but no one is talking about any curses or magical powers... It's basically what makes you into a better human-being, a good person, a kinder person of integrity. period. (as far as I'm concerned)

I know right?

Anyone notice that Religion starts more wars then anything else?

The true irony is that Ofra Haza's parents left Yemen to flee the very persecution at Arab hands of which you speak. There would be peace if the Arabs were less interested in killing Jews and more interested in building a society that would live peacefully next to Israel |
