I never said that wasn't possible, and I'm not saying that's the case with this band. However, the situation I illustrated is not uncommon in the music industry at all.and I don't doubt her skill level (even if she does play with a pick c:), but generally contemporary rock bass lines consist of open, 3, 5, wash, rinse, repeat.And I entirely agree that it's sexist. I never in my comment stated that I support it, because I don't.

Did you think maybe she was his friend?and could play bass?It's not always just attracting listeners.Seriously, that's sexiest and wrong. Maybe she's the best he knows? Just because it's not "challenging" doesn't mean she can't be amazing at it and the best he knows.:)

a girl bassist, actually. which actually is pretty common. contemporary music has very simple basslines and so they put girls on bass because it's not "challenging" and they want to attract female listeners.
